Label TextThis set originally belonged to Gordon Curnoe, father of artist Greg Curnoe (1936-1992), historian Glen Curnoe, and their sister, Lynda. He was an avid lawn bowler, which is a game where the objective is to roll biased balls or "bowls" so that they stop close to a smaller ball, without hitting it. Lawn bowling became popular in the late-19th century and continues to be a popular pastime, with 271 registered clubs across Canada.
