Label TextThis Gold Medal Certificate was awarded to Labatt for Ale and Stout at the Pan-American Exposition, Buffalo, New York, 1901. After his father's death in 1866, John Labatt II (1838-1915) officially took over Labatt Brewing Company in 1872. The company would become the largest brewery in Canada. He began to enter the company’s products into Canadian and international competitions. Winning medal after medal, the company gained fame and sales grew.
