Label TextIn 1977, Labatt’s released “Special Lite '' to challenge federal regulations around the use of the term “light'' beer. A 1979 Supreme Court ruling overturned the regulations. Labatt’s had won. But consumers didn’t like the product. Scrapping “Special Lite,” Labatt’s later released Blue Light, a lighter version of its flagship brew, Labatt’s Blue.
