Label TextThis mourning card would have been sent out after the passing of Henry Behenna, in 1881 at the age of 61. The use of stationery like this has a long history but is most associated with the Victorian era. Rules covered its use just as they dictated all other aspects of mourning. It was common for the bereaved to send letters on mourning stationery for a year or longer. This was a mark of respect for the deceased.
