Label TextLondoner Naomi Nadea made this costume for London's 2013 Pride Parade. The costume took Naomi approximately 6-7 hours to make. The bulk of it is constructed of ostrich feathers, bamboo, plastic and foam. As a Black trans women born in St. Lucia, she is proud. The aquamarine is the colour of the St. Lucian flag and the wings honour people who have passed away from HIV/AIDS. Nadea has had hundreds of people requesting photos with her when in costume. The costume was inspired by Brazilian and Caribbean Carnival costumes.
