Label TextThis red galvanized steel bucket has a curved handle on the base, used for holding the bucket when tossing water onto a fire. Buckets played an important role in firefighting before the advent of hand-pumped fire engines and the use of fire hose lines. Firefighters in the "bucket brigade" would pass buckets of water to each other to extinguish flames.
