Label TextThis sign is from C.S. Hyman. Hyman's tannery was one of London's first industries, founded in the 1830s by Ellis W. Hyman. The tannery was first located on York Street near Talbot. It was moved to Richmond Street at the CPR tracks in 1867 where it continued in operation until about 1970. Before his death in 1878, Hyman had built a four-story boot and shoe factory on Carling Street
