Label TextThis ribbon presents the program of the Phoenix Fire Company’s Grand Promenade Concert, held on November 26, 1858. The venue for the event was the auditorium in London’s new city hall, 383 Richmond Street. Built in 1855 to reflect London’s new incorporation as a city, the building included a 540-seat
auditorium. With such attractions as the celebrated Holman Juveniles, the Phoenix Fire Company needed one of the city’s largest spaces to accommodate the audience.
