Label TextMary Mitchell's grandmother Ruth Miriam Campbell Currie (1895-1984) wrote a note about the teacup: "Dear mother [Sarah Leach Campbell, 1850-1904] used to like this little cup and saucer so much. When she was ill and I was a small girl sitting at her knee, she used to let me hold it. When she died in 1904 I took it from the side board so I would have close beside me something we had shared. How bright are childhood memories! March 1953."
