Label TextJohn Madden, a furniture finisher with the London Furniture Manufacturing Company in the 1880s and 1890s, made this doll’s bed for his daughter, Alice. Madden worked 59.5 hours per week. An 1889 report noted the good working conditions and that over 60% of the employees had worked for the company for more than 10 years. Madden was among them.
