Label TextThis is a flax-spinning wheel. Unlike "great wheel" spinning tools, flax-spinning wheels are designed with a double-drive wheel, a distaff that holds unspun fibres, keeping them untangled, and a break mechanism. Spun flax can be turned into linen, but the process is more difficult than spinning wool or cotton.
