Label TextDr. Alexander Hotson was presented with this gold-headed walking stick by his colleagues at the London Collegiate Institute, where he was the science teacher, in June of 1898. While teaching at the Collegiate Institute, Hotson enrolled in medical school at the University of Western Ontario, where he received his medical degree in 1889. He became a professor of Zoology at the university and later took over a medical practice in Parkhill, Ontario.
