Label TextThis earthenware ink bottle is from the Komoka Academy, also known as the Middlesex Seminary. Opened in early 1865, the school accepted both boys and girls. To promote the Seminary, one description praised its location in Komoka. Easy to access by rail, it was also “removed from the evil influences and temptations too common in cities and towns.”
