Label TextIn 1878, London’s new waterworks began operations. It included a dam and pumphouse, visible in this photograph. Londoners benefitted from clean water and better fire protection the waterworks afforded. In the grounds surrounding the waterworks, they also gained a new leisure and recreation destination: Springbank Park.
