Label TextSunoco, founded in 1886 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, began as an energy company and is now a leading distributor of fuels in the United States. In Canada, Sunoco gas stations operated through deals with Suncor Energy until 2010, when Suncor acquired Petro-Canada. All Sunoco locations were converted to Petro-Canada stations, except for one remaining location in Port Colborne, Ontario.

Speake worked for the company through its name changes, starting in the 1920's when it was called The Signry Limited and when it was renamed in 1927 to C.E. Marley Ltd.
