Label TextHere, a woman packs paper boxes at the Crumlin Plant. The company actively recruited women. One 1947 advertisement read, “GIRLS—here’s work that is clean, light, interesting, pleasant, [and] profitable.” If this drew them, women were told that successful applicants had to be “…alert, intelligent, and dexterous.” Women employed at Somerville also helped manufacture puzzles and games
