Label TextThe owners of London’s Adelaide Winery obtained a license to make wine in 1918. From 1930 to 1936, the business operated out of 197 Kent Street, at one time home to the Kent Brewery. It advertised that it sold “fine wines and champagnes.” The London Winery purchased the Adelaide Winery in 1936-1937. Brothers Arthur and Joseph Knowles established the London Winery in 1925. To begin, the winery specialized in sweet wines like sherry. In 1963, it also started to make honey wines or mead. In response to competition and changing tastes, the winery diversified its offerings, introducing dry table wines in the late 1970s. Vincor International purchased the London Winery in 1996.
