Label TextThis wool doll skirt was made in the early 19th-century by Jessie Motley. She sewed many pieces of clothing for her daughter Luella Motley's dolls. Mass production of children's toys and accessories was not yet common at the time, so many toys were homemade with materials that were available around the house. These doll clothes were made from leftover material from outfits Jessie made for Luella.
