Label TextLondon photographer Arthur Gleason (1877-1964) captured this 1962 aerial view of the newly expanded Greenway Pollution Control Centre, first built in 1901. In December 2020, federal and municipal governments announced millions in funding for further upgrades. Anticipating more severe weather due to climate change, improvements will prevent the dumping of raw sewage into the river. This will protect the ecosystem and the water quality for communities downstream.
