Label TextThis photorgraph features the front and side views of the old London Post Office built circa 1860 and demolished in 1953. The building front, facing onto Richmond Street has double Doric columns on the first level and double Corinthian columns on the level above. The federal crest of arms with lion and unicorn atop the words "POST OFFICE" are situated above the main entrance. The Post Office was situated on the southwest corner of Richmond Street and Queens Avenue. The architect was William Beaumont Leather (1820-1907), who had been a partner of Sandford Fleming.
