Label TextThis portrait depicts Frank Ray Lawson, OBE (1886-1980). He was the 17th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Canada, from 1946 to 1952. Before becoming Lieutenant Governor he worked at his father's printing firm, Lawson & Jones, later taking over the company. He would become an executive or director at over 20 companies over his business career. In addition to his business and political activities, he was a philanthropist. He established the Lawson Foundation in 1956. Since its founding, the Lawson Foundation has donated over $50 million to charities across Canada.
