Label TextDo you recognize the phone numbers on the circa 1950s wall-mounted
address and telephone number directory? The letters refer to the telephone
exchange, the hub through which calls were routed. This file features
the letters GE and GL. They identify two hubs in London: GEneral and
GLadstone. By 1963, Bell telephone converted London to the all-number
system we use today.
