Label TextDo you recognize the phone numbers on the circa 1950s wall-mounted address and telephone number directory? The letters refer to the telephone exchange, the hub through which calls were routed. This file features the letters GE and GL. They identify two hubs in London: GEneral and GLadstone. By 1963, Bell telephone converted London to the all-number system we use today.
