Label TextThis embossing press would have likely been used to mark documents and memos with the War Memorial Children's Hospital logo. War Memorial Children's Hospital was established in 1917, across from Victoria Hospital at the South Street site. The facility for sick children was built using funds raised by the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire. The hospital opened in 1922 and provided services for countless children and was renamed the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario in 1985. In 1995, it joined London Health Sciences Centre along with Victoria and University Hospitals. Sharing a site with Victoria Hospital, the Children's Hospital continues to operate today.
