Label TextThe Children's Hospital has a long history in London. It started as War Memorial Children's Hospital and established in 1917, across from Victoria Hospital at the South Street site. The facility for sick children was built using funds raised by the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire. The hospital opened in 1922 and provided services for countless children and was renamed the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario in 1985. In 1995, it joined London Health Sciences Centre along with Victoria and University Hospitals. Sharing a site with Victoria Hospital, the Children's Hospital continues to operate today.
