Label TextElaine Marshall was born in London in 1918, with family connections in Mitchell, Ontario. She grew up both in London and Mitchell -- one older brother (John Harold aka "Jack") with whom she was very close, and two younger brothers (Warren George aka "Jimmy" and William Keith). Jimmy served in the Navy and Keith in the Signal Corps.
Her mother Georgina "George" had a twin sister, Alberta "Bert", who was known to be artistic. Bert died in 1910 or 'll of typhoid. It was to Bert's funeral that George wore this very fashionable mouring ensemble.
