Label TextThese boots belonged to the donor's great-grandmother, Fanny Welch, née Heard. This style of boot was very popular as every-day wear in the mid-late 19th Century or Victorian era as well as into the Edwardian era of the early 20th Century. Boots usually had button up sides or "spat" styles like these, or were fastened with front lacing.
