Label TextLeila Gertrude Peters (1889-1974) was a granddaughter of a Samuel Peters Sr. and his wife Ann. These shoes may have belonged to Leila's grandmother, Ann Peters. In 1853, Samuel (1789-1864) and Ann Peters (d. 1887) built their home, Grosvenor Lodge, on 500 acres of land purchased from George Goodhue. Leila Peters was the third generation to inherit Grosvenor Lodge and it became the Dunn family home after her marriage to James P. Dunn. In 1972 Leila sold the property to the University of Western Ontario with the understanding that it would be preserved as a historic site.
