Label TextThis is an Intoxilyzer 5000C, first used in Canada in 1994, uses infrared technology to measure blood alcohol concentration (BAC). A portable unit, police used it at hospitals to test the BAC of individuals involved in accidents and who were suspected of having been driving while impaired. It was later replaced by the Intoxilyzer 8000.
