Label TextThousands of block makers like this one were produced by two firms in London in the early 20th century, the Ideal Company, a branch plant of a U.S. company, and the London Concrete Machinery Company. Building contractors, and probably some homeowners, bought these machines along with a cement mixer to add porches, as well as to build foundations and houses. Many porches in London's Old South have been built with concrete blocks made by a machine similar to this one.
