Label TextSimpson’s was a major department store at the southwest corner of Richmond and Dundas streets. Its first location was in Newmarket, Ontario, which opened in 1858. London Simpson’s acquired “Smallman and Ingram” shortly before the end of the Second World War in 1944. They changed the store name in July 1945. The London Simpson's store quickly became known for its elaborate display windows, especially the Christmas one. The Christmas window displays set up each year in London were the displays that had been used the previous year at the Simpson's store in downtown Toronto. The store closed in the late 1980s.
