Label TextLondoner Charles Isard received this sliver-plated (?) box as a 70th birthday gift. It is engraved with signatures of about 40 of London’s business leaders of the time. Charles Edward Isard (1902-1973) was an investment dealer in his own firm, Isard, Robertson & Co., established in 1926. He was well-connected in London and the region, participating in various organizations around town and beyond. The financial sector was an important one in London’s history.

Born Paisley, Ontario, 1902. Came to London, 1926. Son of James S. Isard and Clara Isard, Wingham, Ont. Married Doris Mildred Milner, daughter of Albert H. Milner, Brampton, Ont., 1928. One son, Douglas (1934-1964). (*NOTE Daphne Elizabeth was born in 1939, died 2018)
Educated: Wingham Public School and High Schools.
Began business life with Dominion Bank, 1919. On Inspection Staff two years, leaving 1926 to form present firm with Mr. Robertson.
Member of Kiwanis Club, Masonic Lodge, London Hunt and Country Club, Sunningdale Golf Club, London Club.
Recreation: Golf.
