Label TextSir John Carling (1828-1911) was born in the Township of Middlesex. He joined his father in his brewery business and later succeeded him as president of the Carling Brewing and Malting Company. In addition to the family business, Carling pursued a career in politics. This commission documents the Royal appointment of Carling to the position of Receiver General of the Province of Canada in 1862.
