Label TextSir John Carling (1828-1911) was born in the Township of Middlesex. He joined his father in his brewery business and later succeeded him as president of the Carling Brewing and Malting Company. In addition to the family business, Carling pursued a career in politics. This commission documents the appointment of Carling as a member of the Executive Council during Canadian Confederation in 1867.
