Label TextIn 1980-1981, The Last Great Vaudeville Show was filmed at the Grand Theatre. It starred Donald O’Connor as George M. Cohan, Debbie Reynolds as Sophie Tucker, Clive Baldwin as Al Jolson, and Charlie Callas as Georgie Jessel. Canadian actor, Jeff Hyslop, who also signed the poster, was in the production as well.
Donald O’Connor (1925-2003) was an American performer who starred in many films including Singing in the Rain. He won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Comedy or Musical for this role.
Debbie Reynolds (1932-2016) was also a well-known performer, a star of screen and stage who performed in many musicals.
Clive Baldwin made his career playing Al Jolson, dressing up in Blackface to do so, as he did in the Grand production.
