Label TextIn the 18th century, the English began to drink more tea than coffee. It was the more economical of the two caffeinated beverages. When English people immigrated to North America, they brought their preference for tea with them. They also brought tea rituals with them. Most associated with domesticity and femininity, taking tea with neighbours was one of women’s most frequent social events.
