Label TextJillian Best received a life-saving liver transplant in 2016 which led her to compete in the World Transplant Games as a swimmer. She won two silver medals in 2017 and earned five world records in 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Games were cancelled. Best took this time to embark on a new challenge: On August 3, 2021, Best swam 52 km across Lake Ontario, raising $230,000 with her Move for Life Foundation team.
