Label TextThis postcard depicts a view of Wellington Street, looking north, showing the Y.M.C.A. on the west side and the London Life Insurance Building on the east. According to the Facebook page, "Vintage London," "London Life operated from various rental premises until its first head office building was purchased in 1906. Situated at 424 Wellington Street, the new head office housed a staff of 22. The building still stands today and is known to Londoners as the Wright Lithographing building." As for the Y.M.C.A building, it was constructed in 1895-1897, and was the design of local firm Moore & Henry, architect.
