Label TextBishop Charles Allen Seager (1872-1948) was elected Metropolitan of Ontario in 1943, and the congregations of the Diocese contributed for a portrait of him. Clare Bice (1908-1976), the artist for whom the Archbishop wanted to sit, was on military service until 1946. On his return to London he painted the Archbishop's face and hands from life, and a Theological student, Ralph Blight, posed for the painting of the robes.
