Label TextThis portrait of the late Bishop Carmen Queen (1912-1974), painted by Clare Bice (1908-1976) from photographs, was unveiled at Synod by the late Bishop's son and daughter. Queen was ordained in the Anglican church in 1925 and was educated at Western University. He served as Bishop of Huron from 1970-1974.
Clare Bice grew up in London and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and English from the University of Western Ontario in 1928. He served as the curator of the Williams Memorial Art Gallery and Museum, which would eventually become Museum London, from 1940-1972.
