Label TextMary West (1918-1999), a student at H. B. Beal Technical School in the 1930s, made the tooled leather wallet in London artist Mackie Cryderman’s art class. Cryderman (1896-1969) created the vocational art department at the school. Between 1927 and 1962, she taught many, including artists Greg Curnoe (1936-1992), John Boyle (born 1941), and Murray Favro (born 1940). At the same time, she kept up her own artistic practice.
