Springfield, Elgin County, hosted the 47th International Plowing Match and Farm Machinery Demonstration from October 11 to 14, 1960. Lines of furrows mark the plowing competition and demonstration area (bottom). In the tented city (middle), attendees heard lectures from agricultural and other experts. They also visited the many exhibits. Today, this part of Elgin County is still farm land.
