Label TextCollingwood, Ontario, Looking Northwest 1950s Collingwood’s shipyards, situated along the Georgian Bay shoreline (middle), closed in the 1980s after more than 100 years of shipbuilding. Today, luxury townhomes occupy part of the site. A spur of land (middle, right) extends into the bay to the grain terminals (top, middle). Opened in 1929, the terminals ceased operations in 1993. Collingwood acquired the site in 1997 and today is evaluating its heritage value.
