Label TextWellington Square Mall Around 1962 Northwest View (or Looking Northwest), Wellington Square Mall (bottom), Canada’s first enclosed mall, opened in 1960. Its site was once the home of a McClary Manufacturing Company factory. Today the location, and much of the block to the north, is Citi Plaza. Other well-known buildings in this photograph include the tall, art deco Dominion Public Building (back, left), the Huron & Erie building (back, right), and Novack’s (middle, left).
