Label TextMidland 1950s Northeast View (or Looking northeast) Midland’s shipyard and docks (middle) sit on the shores of Georgian Bay. The town of Midland (bottom) fans out from the shoreline. The town’s main thoroughfare, King Street, begins just in front of the docks (middle, right). The Simcoe grain elevator (top, left) was demolished in 1994. Today, the railroad along the waterfront is gone, as is the industry that dominated the area. Instead, the waterfront features parks and walking trails.
