Label TextLondon's John Howe was a soft drink bottler from 1909-1913. City directories record that he operated a soda water manufacturing plant at 30 Picton Street from 1909 to 1911. In 1912 and 1913, he was the proprietor of the London Bottling Works. By 1914, Howe is no longer listed and P. F. Boyle is the proprietor of the London Bottling Works. The London Bottling Works was one of a number of soft drink bottling companies in London over the course of the late 19th and early 20th century. At that time, soda water and soft drinks were sold as both a healthy and non-alcoholic Temperance beverage.
