Label TextThis was one of two signs that were once on the front of the Mara Textile store in the 1920s and 1930s. Mara's was founded by T.E. Mara in the 1870s as a dry goods store. It continued in operation until aboout 1985 when it moved to the market, remaining there until shortly before the building was demolished. It was owned and managed by the family for the entire period of its 93 year operation.
