Label TextLondon based Lac-Mac Limited has been a manufacturer of textiles, protective wear, and medical garments since 1920. According to their current website, "Lac-Mac developed and introduced EYEREST Green into the operating room in the 1940's when white surgical drapes, gowns and scrubs were most commonly in use." The bright white textiles were more likely to cause eye strain and after-images after prolonged use, so Lac-Mac's trademarked shade of green was developed to ease this. The company still operates its headquarters in London and Lac-Mac has a Medical Device Manufacturing Designation, approved by Health Canada and the United States F.D.A.
