Label TextLondon’s Dr. Joseph Lancaster (1813-1884) used this examination chair in his medical practice. Lancaster was the first physician in Ontario to practice homeopathy. This branch of medicine focuses on hygiene, rest, diet, and exercise to treat illness. It also involves treating diseases with minute doses of natural substances to help the body heal itself. This chair was recovered in leather after its original horsehair upholstery disintegrated.
