Label TextLondon's Hunt Milliing Corporation manufactured the flour that had been packaged in this bag. The product is named for King George V, who reigned from 1910 until his death in 1936. Charles Hunt opened the first Hunt grist or flour mill in 1855 on the south branch of the Thames River. Equipped with four pairs of millstones, it produced 215 bushels of flour a day. Hunt sold the product at his store, the Golden Sheaf, and abroad. Brothers Charles and John Hunt took over the business following their father's 1871 death. In 1917, they relocated the family flour mill to East London. Their six-story facility used electricity to produce 1200 bushels of flour a day. The business closed in 1957.
