Label TextLondon-born artist, Paul Peel (1860-1892), used this armchair. No doubt it was a comfortable piece of furniture for his moments of relaxation. But Peel had other uses for it too. Look closely at this reproduction of his painting The Modest Model, and you can see that it served as a prop in his artwork. The original of this painting is in Museum London’s permanent art exhibition, Taking the Long View. Look for it on the large arched red wall on the museum’s second floor.
